SPECIAL SECTIONS
PRACTICE PEARLS
Contributions highlight the pearls and perils of the approach to, or diagnosis and treatment of a particular condition, or "how to perform" a particular diagnostic or therapeutic procedure, based on the author's experience ("how I do it") AND a review of the literature (evidence-based). Figures serve to illustrate the discussion. Authorship by consultants/fellows in ORL-HNS and related fields (audiology, olfactory sciences, dentistry, speech pathology, physiatry, endocrinology) are welcome.
FEATURED GRAND ROUNDS
Contributions include cases presented in Inter-Hospital Grand Rounds and may or may not have been presented in Research Contests. Unlike Case Reports, Featured Grand Rounds contributions should have more of a teaching slant, and should educate the readers on the featured topic. Authorship by residents, diplomates and consultants/fellows alike are welcome.
FROM THE VIEWBOX
Contributions generally have one to three figures (radiographs, CT scans or MRI's, ultrasonograms) with a one to two paragraph explanation-description and three to five references. Longer submissions may be considered for inclusion as Case Reports, Original Articles or Letters to the Editor. Authorship by radiologists and sonologists are welcome.
UNDER THE MICROSCOPE
Contributions are brief reports with one to three figures (gross specimens and/or microscopic histopathologic and/or immunohistochemical slides) with a one to two-paragraph description and three to five references. Longer reports may be classified as full Case Reports and/or Original Articles. Contributions from pathologists are welcome.
